Afterthought
Life wasn’t fair, maybe, death?
Appalled at the bleakness now
Involved in too much, too less
Forgot myself behind somewhere
Here, in the deathbed
My self, questions myself
Loneliness found a partner, again
Memories of busy minds, silent cries
Sadly, don’t elate the dead
Where did I leave everyone?
Strangely, life always did feel crowded
The sterile sun glared, did the cyclops blink?
Brooding isn’t a choice now
Maybe, tomorrow I’ll be accompanied
Only eternity behind my eyes
Dark and unafraid, stares into mine
The mystery of life inside my mind
Never witnessed a fear of this kind
Meet me at the doorway
I’ll see you off, maybe, anyway.
